Hi, I’m Bea, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my 20+ years in the beauty industry, it’s that life can take unexpected turns. But it’s not about what happens to you—it’s about what you choose to do when life knocks you down. And believe me, life knocked me down more than once.
For over 20 years, I worked as a nail technician. It was hard work, but it was my passion. However, my world changed completely 9 years ago when I transitioned into cosmetic tattooing. I was a single mother with two young daughters, no child support, no safety net—nothing but a determination to make it work. I was 100% responsible for everything, emotionally, physically, and financially.
In February 2022, I made the hardest decision of my life—I left my relationship with nothing. Absolutely nothing. No house, no savings, no security. I took only what mattered: my daughters, our clothes, and the car. The house I worked so hard for, the life I had built with my ex, was gone. I left behind everything but the love for my children and the hope that I could build a better future for us.
The financial settlement was tiny, so small that even my lawyer wasn’t sure the courts would accept it. But I signed it anyway because I just wanted the pain to stop. It was hard, and I felt humiliated. I put every penny of that settlement into trust for my daughters—because, after everything, I knew they had to come first.

I fell into a mountain of debt, borrowing from family just to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads. I’d shop at discount food stores—Golden Circle and Kingdom Foods—because I couldn’t afford anything else. It was humiliating.
I spent nights crying myself to sleep, pretending for my girls that everything was fine. I didn’t want them to see my struggles. I just kept thinking, “I have to make this work.”
